Seating and tables based on African Drum Archetypes including Djembes and Dumbeks. The sculpture may be used as a musical instrument or as a functional design element.


Saturn Seat at Liberty Science 2000 Jersey City, NJ

Installed on the walkway to Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ. A sundial gnomen rises from a stainless steel globe encircled by a seating ring. The globe is perforated with a star map of the Jersey City night sky at the solstice in the year 2000. At night the illuminated globe, seating ring and starmap appear to be floating above grade. Parabolic Bench at Liberty Science Center 2000 Jersey City, NJ

Installed on the walkway to Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ. Ramped walkway between two 8' diameter vertical stainless steel dishes creates an acoustic space for reflecting and focusing sound. Participants can generate sound waves by clapping and stop them with a wave of the hand. The red walkway terminates with Saturn seat shown above.



Sounds Fun at Childrens Museum of Manhattan 1995-97 NYC

Exhibition formerly at the Children's Museum of Manhattan and Citicorp Atrium. Installations by Sonic Architecture include: Silver Ark Xylophone, Wood Ark Xylophone, Bridge of Songs,Clockworks, Linear Time Code, Bowl Trees, Gravity Timers,Hum Drums and Sonic Miniature Golf.

Children's Museum of Richmond Richmond VA 2000

A series of three Wind Reeds and Parabolic Listening Dishes for the entry plaza of the Museum. To be installed spring 2000


Bronx Play Boat Bronx NYC 1997

Play installation for a community garden in the Bronx for children aged 2-5&.Sand and water play elements are revealed inside compartments of boat as decks transformed into ramps. Sets of colorful sails offer shelter and can be rearranged. Built with assistance from the children and parents of the Garden, students from Fordham University and Peter Beeton. Commissioned by The Design Trust in co-operation with CERG.
